PCAN-Developer

Field busses are used for communication between ind. hardware devices.Up to now sequencing control was left to specialized software developers. The PCAN-Developer pkg presents the "missing link" to a problem-free connection of CAN hardware to PCs by leveraging advances in, and simplification of, software development within a Windows-based environment using such tools as a Visual C, Borland Builder, Delphi, Visual Basic. The core of the PCAN-Developer is a Windows-based Dynamic Link Library (DLL).The contained API functions make it possible to communicate with the system driver and, by extension, appropriate programs under C, Pascal Visual-Basic and Delphi. The system driver supports any PC hardware manufactured by PEAK-System Technik, ensuring hardware-software compatibility. The PCAN-Developer pkg contains detailed docs with source code examples. For dev purposes, the driver contained with all PCAN hardware allows easy connection of PCAN devices to a CAN network.Addl CAN devt tools offered by PEAK-System Technik enable easy configuration and visualization of a CAN system.

Features:

  • 32-bit Windows DLL Application Programming Interface (API)
  • Interrupt-triggered reception of CAN messages from hardware, saved in the device drivers FIFO buffer with time stamp
  • Event-controlled reception of CAN messages from the driver by Windows applications possible
  • Supports CAN protocols 2.0A and 2.0B (29-bit identifier)
  • Detailed documentation with fully executable sample source code
  • Time-driven timer transmission to the system driver (shoot and forget)
  • Extensive tool box for configuration, parameterization and visualization of the CAN system
  • Includes five drivers, which may be freely distributed with PCAN applications. Additional driver licenses can be purchased
  • Includes example projects for different programming languages
  • Includes powerful CAN monitor PCAN-Explorer
  • Includes data logging tool PCAN-Trace
