Cogent Computer Systems, Inc., entwirft und fertigt Single Board Computer (SBC´s)seit 1992. Ursprünglich produzierten wir SBC’s für Software Entwickler, aber mit immer mehr Funktionalität integriert in der CPU wurde es wirtschaftlich sinnvoll, Boards zu entwickeln und zu produzieren, die sowohl als OEM Boards als auch für Software Entwicklung Verwendung finden.
Die CSB3xx Familie wurde in Jahr 2002 vorgestellt und wurde als robuster, preiswerter SBC für Entwicklung und Embedded Anwendungen geplant. Die CSB6xx wurde 2004 eingeführt, und ergänzte das Angebot der CSB3xx Familie, war aber kleiner und höher integriert. Im Jahr 2007 wurde die CSB7xx Familie angekündigt. Das Hauptziel war, Vorteil aus dem Trend zu kleineren CPU Gehäusen und der Verfügbarkeit des 200-Pin SODIMM Standards zu ziehen. Dies ermöglicht der CSB7xx Familie, mehrere CPU Architekturen in einem einzigen gemeinsamen "Footprint" zu unterstützen. Dies ermöglichte den Aufbau einer ausführlichen Entwicklungsumgebung mit I/O Adaptern, LCD Displays und mehr, und dies für alle Mitglieder der CSB7xx Familie, nicht nur für ein oder zwei.
Die Cogent Single Board Computers (CSB) basieren auf den populärsten CPU Architekturen wie ARM, PowerPC, MIPS und ColdFire. Unsere SBC´s sind klein in Größe und Preis, voll ausgestattet und einfach zu benutzen. Die CSB7xx Serie bietet eine kosteneffektive Plattform für eine Integration in ein Kundengerät wie auch für Software Entwicklung. Unsere Boards nehmen viele Funktionen von der CPU, ergänzen sie aber mit ausgewählter Peripherie außerhalb der CPU.

It is designed to allow effective, quick to market software and hardware development.
Application development is performed right on the product-ready CSB739-SAM9G45 SOM and software Board Support Packages (BSPs) included in the kit, which enables you to transfer your application code and hardware into production easily. The included CSB739-SAM9G45 SOM provides a ultra small, powerful, flexible engine for embedded control systems of all kinds. This SOM allows for easy evaluation of the Atmel SAM9G45 processor.

The KIT740, designed, developed and manufactured by Cogent Computer Systems, Inc., is a Development Platform that supports the TI OMAP3530 SODIMM module.
